In 2009 we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the biggest and most magical night on St. Armands - "Holiday Night of Lights". The Circle and Circle Park magically come to life as the Circle "lights up" with thousands of white lights and lighted silhouette decorations! The offical kick off to the Holiday season, the evening begins with the lighting of St. Armands' FOUR STORY Christmas tree. And, of course, we musn't forget the arrival of that jolly old elf, himself - Santa Claus! Twelve live musical entertainment groups are scattered thoroughout the Circle as well as strolling musicians! Children have the opportunity to visit with Santa and share their wish list! Stores have extended store hours and the feeling of holiday cheer is in the air. This Holiday extravaganza is one that YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS! Festivities begin at Lynches Pub & Grub, an authetic Irish Pub with those Irish lasses from County Cork - Chris & Ethna, bright and early, and will continue into the "wee hours of the night". They will have bagpipers, Irish Step-dancers, and lots of singing! Numerous other St. Armands Circle restaurants have special drink & menu specials, planned for the day, so make sure to check in with them to see what is going on! So, wear some green, and join in on the fun - because on St. Patrick's Day - "Everyone is Irish!!!"

The 2010 Suncaost Jaguar Club Dan Ligas Memorial Concours d'Elegance will be held the weekend of October 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Major sponsor for the Jaguar Concours d'Elegance is Wilde Jaguar of Sarasota. The Concours Hotel for the weekend is the Helmsley Sandcastle Resort, Lido Key. Special rates are available at the Helmsley Sandcastle for concours registrants. Please refer to the Suncoast Jaguar Club rates when making reservations at the hotel. (Car owners please note: Three levels of room accomodations are available) Friday night, October 1st there will be a complimentary barbecue buffet for registered show car owners at the Helmsley Sandcastle, co-sponsored by Wilde Jaguar of Sarasota. Newest model Jaguar automobiles will be on display at the hotel, that evening and at the concours October 2nd. Saturday morning, October 2nd, the concours registration booth, on St. Armands Circle, will open to receive concours registrants and their cars beginning at 9:00am. At approximately 10:30am an owners meeting will be held at the registration booth by the concours co-chairs Bill Borrusch & Tom Gooding. Chief judge David Roth will describe the duties of car owners with respect to the judging of their cars by the judging teams. Following the owners meeting there will be a judges meeting. Judging will begin at approximately 11:00am and no further preparations of show cars is permitted when the judging begins. Judging will be completed by 2:30pm. After that time, owners may return their cars to the hotel and take leisure until the evening awards banquet. The Suncoast Jaguar Club Awards Banquet will be held at Cafe L'Europe on St. Armands Circle beginning at 6:30pm. Reservations required. Following the banquet dinner, Jaguar Concours show awards will be presented to the first three places achieved in each of the JCNA Championship Classes, Special Classes and Driven Classes. In cooperations with the St. Armands Circle Association and Wilde Jaguar of Sarasota, the Suncoast Jaguar Club looks forward to welcoming all Jaguar enthusiasts and visitors to the Jaguar Concours d'Elegance. Our fabulous Halloween event, in its 2nd year, returns for the "young and young at heart." FRIGHT NIGHT! transforms St. Armands Circle from island sophistication to Halloween fun. Decorated store fronts set the stage for wandering spirits of St. Armands past; frightening characters appear around every corner amidst statues dressed in the Halloween spirit. Children trick-or-treat throughout The Circle with numerous retailers and restaurants contributing to the Halloween spirit with customized promotions. In collaboration with the Sarasota High School Drama Department, a performance of "Thriller" will take place around 8:30pm. This is a NOT to be missed event!!!
